CCA has great showing at SIF Sections
The Sac-Joaquin
Section High School Swim Championships were held Mother’s Day
weekend at Tokay High School in Lodi. Twenty five CCA swimmers
represented 12 different High Schools at this qualifying
meet. Our swimmers did an outstanding job competing for their
high schools with fast swims, many of them swimming in the finals
of the three day event which showcased the talents of swimmers from
103 High Schools.
Two CCA swimmers,
Jamie Tyrrell representing Granite Bay High School, and Adam
Jorgensen representing Roseville High School swam times that
qualify them to be considered for All-American status. That
recognition is given to the swimmers posting the fastest 130 swims
in the nation this year. In addition, Jamie’s
time of 4:31.90 in the 500 yd Freestyle was fast enough to
automatically qualify him for that honor.
Adam Jorgensen
also set two new Sierra Nevada Swimming Records at the
meet. He swam a 51.43 in the 100 Yard Butterfly and 1:42.71 in
the 200 Yard Freestyle.
